Ram Navmi Celebrated With Religious Fervour in Kashmir

‘ Ram Navmi’, the birth anniversary of Lord Ram was today celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety throughout the Kashmir valley.

People, including Kashmiri pandits, paramilitary forces, in colourful dresses were seen visiting Ram temples in different parts of the valley.

In Srinagar a large number of pandits, including women and children, visited Ramji temple at Barbar Shah and other places in the down town since early this morning. Migrant pandits, who had come from different
parts of the country, particularly Jammu, for participating in Hawan in a south Kashmir temple early this week, also celebrated the birth day of Lord Ram.

Muslims and sikhs were seen greeting their pandit brethren on the occasion.

Reports of celebration of Ram Navmi were also received from other parts of the valley, including Anantnag, Badgam, Kupwara, Ganderbal and Baramulla.
