Two minors drown in pond in JK

Two boys, aged five and seven, died after they fell into a pond in Samba district, police said Saturday.

The siblings, Sushil Kumar (7) and Bittu Kumar (5), were playing near the pond at Bari Brahma area when
they slipped into it and drowned.

The bodies were fished out and handed over to their family after post-mortem, police told the United News of India.

Meanwhile a 50-year-old man was found hanging from a tree outside his house in outskirts of Jammu city, the winter capital of the state.

The man was identified as Madan Lal, a resident of village Salah, tehsil Akhnoor.

The police say no suicide note was found on the body.

“We have registered a case and started initial proceedings under section 174 of CrPC,” the police said.
