In a statement issued to media offices in Srinagar, a spokesman of moderate Hurriyat Conference said that a seven member Hurriyat delegation on way to Pakistan reached Lahore on Saturday evening.
“Upon their arrival at Lahore, APHC chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq who is leading the delegation said that Kashmir was a tripartite issue and not a bilateral one between India and Pakistan. He said the K issue has to be solved between three parties – India, Pakistan and Kashmir,” the statement said.
Mirwaiz said Hurriyat wanted the solution of Kashmir through right to self determination.
“He said that Pakistan always stood behind Kashmiris and supported the cause of right to self by extending moral, political and diplomatic support. The time has come that India should bring change in its stand so as to bring stability and security in south Asia,” the statement quoted.
Mirwaiz stressed that it was extremely important that international community should intervene in the matter to solve the ‘vexed dispute’ permanently.
Mirwaiz said that the main focus of the conglomerate was toundertake bold steps and attain a realistic attitude to solve the K-dispute.
He said thus it has become imperative for Kashmiris and Pakistanis to sit together and exchange views and ideas leading to solve the K issue. He said the APHC also wants that Kashmiris should be included in the ongoing talks between the two countries.
The spokesman informed that the hurriyat delegation left from Islamabad on Sunday morning for Muzaffarabad.
