Life returns to normal, restrictions imposed in Hawal after clashes

Barely a few hours after the three-day curfew was lifted from old Srinagar, authorities on Saturday imposed restrictions at Hawal and other adjoining areas. “Situation took a ugly turn when members of two groups assembled in the area and started pelting stones at the cops and clashed with each other,” a police spokesman said.

However, rest of the city limped back to normalcy. Shops and business establishments reopened and traffic plied normally.
