Restrictions paralyze life in Srinagar

The restrictions were imposed in the Lal Chowk and Abi Guzar areas and from Hawal Chowk to Aali Masjid in the city, a senior police official here said.

Witnesses said that police and CRPF personnel were not allowing pedestrians and vehicular movement in the Jehangir Chowk area and some other areas in the old part of the city, where no restriction orders were imposed.

While shops and other business establishments remained shut in the areas under restriction, daily life was also affected in other parts of the city.

No untoward incident has so far been reported from anywhere, police said.
