A policeman has been critically injured after suspected militants fired in northern area of Kashmir valley, where a 23-year-old violence is waning.
Constable Mushtaq Ahmad received a bullet in his abdomen in the Baramulla town, 55 kms from capital Srinagar.
The injured cop was the personal guard of an office bearer of the ruling National Conference party.
The office bearer, Syed Rafiq Shah, is however unhurt, the police said.
They say they have launched for the attackers.
