Cabinet to meet today

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is scheduled to chair a cabinet meeting here on Friday.

Official sources said that besides giving assent to some government bills, which are likely to be tabled in the state assembly during the ongoing autumn session, the cabinet is expected to discuss the upcoming Block

Development Council elections, notification for which is to be issued on October 10.

The meeting would also discuss the report prepared by a High-Powered Committee constituted to look into the problems and increasing death rate of Amarnath pilgrims.
