Defence Minister A. K. Antony and Union Minister of State K. V. Thomas have expressed confidence that the UPA Government would survive.
Talking to visiting journalists from Kerala, Mr. Antony said that there was no threat to Government following withdrawal of support by Trinamool Congress. He did not elaborate.
Mr. Thomas said that the national parties did not want an early election. The behaviour of Trinamool was unpredictable. It could not be said whether the party would offer support again.
