According to a press release issued on Sunday, KEA chairman, Mohammed Yaseen Khan convened a meeting in which the alliance members condemned the anti-Islam film and termed it part of the “war waged by some countries against Muslims”.
“While we endure sufferings of war with patience and dignity, we cannot endure anything disrespectful towards our Prophet (SAW).”
Calling for the shutdown, the KEA members observed, “While we believe that these criminal acts will not, in any way, make us weak or shake our faith, we need to protest against these acts of disrespect. Therefore, it has been decided to call for a total shut down in the entire valley on Tuesday (18 September).
KEA members observed that the film has put the world peace at stake.
“Making and screening of such films and other such acts of blasphemy is bound to cause unrest and destroy world order and peace.”
Lashing out at United States and other western countries, KEA said, “West claims to be the champion of peace and prosperity. While it respects all natural and unnatural rights of people world over, KEA wonders how it can blatantly ignore the religious and emotional rights of 1.5 billion Muslims.”
“West has to realize that our love for our Prophet SAW is absolute and ultimate. We can sacrifice all we have, including our family, for his love and respect.”
KEA called on Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) to shortlist countries/corporations which refuse to show respect to our faith and boycott their services/products.
“KEA has observed that some countries in the west and elsewhere have been repeatedly offending the sentiments of Muslims and time has come to stop these acts of deliberate offences.OIC has to play a major role through dialogue, persuasion and, if need be, with authority.”
